Common Core.
It's a phrase I'm sure you have heard of over the last year or so. What is it? What does it mean? And, Does it really have anything to do with home schooling? These and many more questions will be answered!

Join us this week for Marilyn Reed from "Pennsylvanians Against Common Core." Marilyn has experience with homeschooling as well as serving on a public school board and is very knowledgeable about the subject.
Our own Sue Means will be with us as well. Sue has home schooled for over 20 years and recently won a seat on the Allegheny County Council.
These two women will bring light to this controversial topic and how it truly will effect the home school community.TONIGHT November 21st

Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company is having their open house this coming Sunday, Oct. 6th from 12 - 4pm. There will be demonstrations, activities for the kids and of course, the trucks!
Great way to get some fire safety in!

February's Meeting

Curriculum Night

This is one of our most popular meetings of the year.

The workshop is just around the corner and what better way to prepare for it than to look to see what's out BEFORE you get there. Know what you want and be able to enjoy the speakers at the workshop because you were able to peruse different selections. If there is anything you want to see please email the group. Maybe there was a book or curriculum that really worked this year, bring it along. We'll also have Carla Hayes with us. She is a foreign language teacher in the area and could be a good curriculum choice for some. Looking forward to seeing many faces!
